I have tried and tried to incorporate congas into my music, try that with static samples. Not every style of music benefits or is based off of live drumming, but I agree there is a lot more life and character that can be extracted from live multi-sampling, it sure makes layering a lot more interesting and flexible. The two problems that I generally notice that prevent this are aptitude (let's face it, it is very hard to find a great player) and expense (properly micing good equipment is costly).There is also genre. Other times I will compose the drum tracks, banging on either my padKontrol or Maschine, controlling my drum software and then use Logic's Piano Roll and Step Editor to fine tune my drums. I combine these with BFD and AR and get some real decent tracks.

If the next version of Superior Drummer incorporates this, I'm going to be all over it like flies on poop.
What I love about it is being able to either take a groove or write one, and then create variances in EZD2 by adjusting the number of hits, power hand, and other things that I haven't found in the more expensive drum software. I also use EZ Drummer 2 for its groove handling abilities. I also love NI's Abbey Road for its sound. If anything, I love BFD2 for the raw sound of its kit pieces. I can spend hours just perfecting the playability of a Battery kit.These days, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the drum software that you decide upon. The drum bus is then fed to the output bus consisting of a Fairchild 670, Ampex ATR-102 and Izotope Ozone. All audible kit pieces are sent to a drum bus consisting of a Neve 1073 Legacy, Fairchild 670, Studer A800. That's really the only reverb because I love how the Room/OH sound on the Abbey Road kits. The snare does have and out but it is fed directly to an reverb, to complement the OH/Room tone. However, the only real kit piece that has an out is the Kick. I used Native Instruments Abbey Road Vintage Drummer (Ebony Kit) and I reconfigured Kontakt for multiple outputs.
